The APTT test is a one-step coagulation test using celite as activator and a mixture of defined phospholipids as replacement for platelets required for measurement of the intrinsic pathway of coagulation. The clotting time value is displayed on the meter screen in plasmaequivalent seconds. The reference results for APTT test strip is 22-40s. The APTT test strip can be used for monitoring of unfractionated heparin therapy and for the determination of the activated partial thromboplastin time in patients with suspected deficiencies of coagulation factors of the intrinsic and common coagulation pathways, with the exception of fibrinogen. APTT test strip can be used in the following situations:

√ Receiving heparin therapy

√ A blood clot in a vein or artery

√ Have recurrent miscarriages

√ Frequent or excessive nose bleeds and easy bruising

√ Unexplained bleeding or easy bruising

√ A blood clot in a vein or artery

√ An acute condition such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) that may cause both bleeding and clotting as coagulation factors are used up at a rapid rate

√ A chronic condition such as liver disease that may affect clotting

The test principle for APTT test strip is Electrochemical measurement of activated partial thromboplastin time following activation of blood coagulation with celite. Each test strip has a test area containing an APTT reagent. When blood is applied, the reagent is dissolved, and an electrochemical reaction takes place which is transformed into a clotting time value.

There are 2 specifications of the package for APTT test strip, one is 20 tests/kit, another is 40 tests/kit. The conditions of storage is 2℃ ~ 40℃, effective for 12 months.
